ENHANCED PRINT

Enhanced printing is made possible by modern digital printing presses that can apply specialized toners, inks, and coatings directly to a substrate without the need for traditional plates or dies. Techniques include:

  • Spot UV coating: A clear, high-gloss coating is applied to specific areas of a print to add visual interest and a smooth texture.

  • Dimensional UV: This creates a raised, tactile effect, which can be applied to logos or graphics to add physical dimension.

  • Embossing and debossing: Embossing raises parts of the paper, while debossing creates a recessed effect.

  • Foil stamping: Metallic or holographic foils are applied to a surface to create dazzling, eye-catching accents.

  • Metallic inks: Specialty dry inks in colors like silver or gold add metallic effects that are not possible with standard CMYK printing.

  • White and clear toners: These can be used with colored paper stocks to create unique effects or as an undercoat to make other colors more vibrant.

  • Augmented reality (AR): Scannable elements in the print trigger interactive digital content, such as sound or video, on a mobile device.

  • Enhanced resolution: Some laser printers use different dot sizes to smooth edges and give the appearance of a higher resolution
